Facial Acupuncture
Natural skin rejuvenation, from the inside out
Facial acupuncture is a specialised form of acupuncture that combines traditional Chinese medicine with a natural approach to skin health and rejuvenation.
Rather than simply focusing on the appearance of the skin, facial acupuncture considers the wider picture — including your circulation, stress levels, sleep, digestion, hormones and overall wellbeing — because these can all influence how your skin looks and feels.
Fine acupuncture needles are gently placed into specific areas of the face and body, with the aim of supporting circulation, encouraging the skin's natural processes and promoting a healthy, refreshed appearance.
More than a facial…
Facial acupuncture isn't simply a facial treatment with needles. Your treatment begins with a consultation so that I can understand your skin concerns alongside your wider health and wellbeing. From a TCM perspective, the skin is not considered completely separate from the rest of the body, so things such as stress, digestion, sleep and hormonal changes can all be relevant when considering your skin. This means your treatment may include acupuncture points on the body as well as the face, selected according to your individual needs.
What can facial acupuncture support?
Facial acupuncture may be used as part of a natural approach to supporting:
Fine lines and signs of ageing
Dull or tired-looking skin
Skin tone and complexion
Facial tension
Puffiness
Circulation and healthy-looking skin
Overall skin vitality and radiance
It can also be particularly lovely for those who hold tension in the face, jaw or forehead, or who feel that their skin reflects periods of stress, tiredness or hormonal change.
What happens during a treatment?
Your treatment begins with a consultation and skin assessment, followed by gentle preparation of the skin. Very fine needles are then placed into carefully selected points on the face, with additional body points used where appropriate. The needles are left in place while you relax, creating a calm and restorative treatment experience. I may also incorporate other techniques where appropriate, such as red light therapy.
The aim is not to dramatically change your features or create an artificial result. Instead, facial acupuncture works with your own features to support a fresh, rested and naturally rejuvenated appearance.
Supporting your skin and your wellbeing
One of the things I love about facial acupuncture is that it sits beautifully between aesthetics and holistic healthcare. Your skin can be affected by what is happening beneath the surface, and your treatment gives us an opportunity to consider both.
By combining facial acupuncture with the principles of TCM and my wider naturopathic approach, we can look at your skin in the context of your whole health — while still giving you dedicated time to relax and care for yourself.
The goal isn't to change who you are. It's to help you look and feel like the best, healthiest version of yourself.
